Your First Week

This guide takes you day by day through key activities to get Arlo running on your farm. By the end of the week, you’ll have all basic modules working with real data captured.


  • Verify lots are correctly loaded
  • Confirm timezone and currency
  • Set field cycle duration (recommended: 15 days)
  • Invite at least 1 additional administrator
  • Create accounts for field monitors
  • Share credentials with the team

  • Go to Sanitation → Monitors and register your inspectors
  • Go to Sanitation → Forms and create your first inspection form
  1. Click Add Form
  2. Give it a descriptive name (e.g., “Pest Monitoring - Citrus”)
  3. Add fields for the pests/diseases you want to monitor
  4. Define alerts with critical thresholds

Quick alternative: Use the AI Assistant to generate a form based on your crop and common pests in your region.

  1. Go to Sanitation → Calendar
  2. Click on a date this week
  3. Select the form, monitor, and lots to inspect
  4. Save the route

  • Monitor downloads app or accesses web launcher
  • Download forms for offline work
  • Verify device GPS is active
  1. Monitor opens the assigned route
  2. Navigates to each lot following the form
  3. Records observations, counts, and photos
  4. When finished, syncs the data
  • Verify route appears as “Completed” in calendar
  • Review results in Route Analysis
  • Read AI summary to understand main findings

  • Go to Field Tasks → Contractors and register your contractors
  • Go to Field Tasks → Field Tasks and create the task catalog

For each type of work you perform:

  1. Task name (e.g., “Formation pruning”)
  2. Unit of measure (trees, meters, hectares)
  3. Default price
  1. Go to Field Tasks → Field Cycles
  2. Click Create Cycle
  3. Select start date (today)
  4. End date will be calculated automatically
  5. Add tasks to the cycle with assigned contractors and lots

As work progresses in the field:

  1. Open the active field cycle
  2. Select a task
  3. Click Add Log
  4. Record: date, completed units, notes
  • Progress percentage updates automatically
  • Task statuses change based on progress
  • Compare budgeted vs. actual cost in real-time

  • Go to Supplies → Configuration and create warehouses
  • Go to Supplies → Providers and register providers
  • Go to Supplies → Catalog and create inventory items
  1. Go to Supplies → Entries
  2. Click New Entry
  3. Select provider, warehouse, and product
  4. Enter quantity and cost
  5. Save the entry
  1. Go to Supplies → Exits
  2. Create an exit linked to a field task (optional)
  3. Select products and quantities
  4. System will update inventory automatically

  • At least one sanitation route completed and analyzed
  • A field cycle with tasks and logged work
  • Inventory with at least one entry and one exit
  • Team familiar with their assigned modules
  • Sanitation: Go to Analytical Reports to see trends
  • Field Tasks: Review cycle summary to see costs
  • Supplies: Check inventory balances by warehouse

With foundations in place, next week focus on:

  1. Establish sanitation routine: Schedule consistent weekly routes
  2. Complete field cycle: Log all work until closure
  3. Configure harvest module (if applicable to the season)
  4. Explore advanced reports: Sanitation maps, cost analysis

  • Farm created with lots
  • Users invited with correct roles
  • Cycle duration configured
  • Monitors registered
  • At least one form created
  • One route scheduled and completed
  • Results reviewed
  • Contractors registered
  • Task catalog created
  • One field cycle started
  • Work logs recorded
  • Warehouses configured
  • Providers registered
  • At least one product in catalog
  • One entry and exit recorded
